Over the last few weeks Craftainers has been delighted to announce and send off our Win a Trip to Houston Competition winners. Together with Applicuts and The Craft Mailbox we were thrilled to be able to run this amazing competition. Judith Williams and her daughter Sabina were the very excited recipients and had a fantastic time in America, as she explained: “Hi Nicole, I wanted to let you know how we went in Houston. The Quilt show was fantastic and such a wonderful experience and a wonderful prize to win. The tour included a mix of trips to craft and quilt shops, markets, heritage villages and historical sites. It was a great mix and allowed us to do all the things we were interested in without getting tired of any one activity. The Quilt show was amazing. The highlight was seeing the wonderful art quilts at the show and I was able to speak to Carolyn Dahl, a Houston woman, who has produced two books on fabric prints and dying. She was an inspiration and I found her very inspiring and generous with her time and advice.Judith and I had a wonderful time and it was great for her to have a break. The flights and accommodation were very good as well.
